Guess That Push For More Worker Bees Backfired

July 2, 2024

Whoops. The right wing’s big push to keep the wimminfolk barefoot and pregnant and producing more little worker bees seems to be backfiring in a big way:

NPR: “After Roe was overturned in June 2022, doctors said a wave of young people […] started asking for permanent birth control like tubal ligations, in which the fallopian tubes are removed, or vasectomies.”

Researchers looked “at how many 18- to 30-year-olds were getting sterilized before and after the ruling.

“They found sharp increases in both male and female sterilization. Tubal ligations doubled from June 2022 to September 2023, and vasectomies increased over three times during that same time…”

That’s okay — most of us who’ll have to count on Social Security to avoid starvation will always be able to rely on the “quiverful” types (Hello, Duggars!) and every egomaniacal billionaire spraying out Mini-Me’s hither and yon with practically any nearby mating stock (Hello, Elmo!) to cover our Social Security.

But what’s captured the attention of the privileged right this minute is the idea that there won’t be enough young worker bees left to do their dirty work, on the cheap: the housecleaning and the caretaking and the babysitting — literally cleaning up somebody else’s sh*t — and all those other chores the rich and undeserving usually avoid by paying some poor schmuck who can’t afford to escape the working-poor trap. Which, of course, is by design.

Oh, well. Looks like our betters are going to have to learn to wipe their own bottoms. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
