AI 1, Bad Cops 0

July 9, 2024

Remember when cops were blasting Disney tunes during arrests in an attempt to thwart anyone recording them and uploading the video to YouTube, which usually yanks videos containing copyrighted music (and may or may not add a demerit to the uploader’s permanent record)?

If not, here’s the backstory:

Two years later, problem solved: YouTube’s “erase song” tool removes music and leaves the rest of the audio intact:

YouTube upgrades its ‘erase song’ tool to remove copyrighted music only

Of course, this doesn’t solve the root problem of cops who don’t want anyone to know what they (or their arrestees) are saying, but at least certain bad apples won’t be able to hide behind Coco any longer.
